LIFE COLUMN: HANDLE WITH CARE

Our beauty expert, Triona White has all the feel-good tricks and picks for indulging in some quality ‘me-time.’

Triona’s Top Trends

I have no doubt that being happy in  ourselves makes us kinder to each other, so this week I’m here to remind  us all of the importance of self-care – getting those feel good hormones pumping, and promoting positive vibes.

That’s why I love products that raise the spirits by utilizing natural ingredients that are kind to us, as well as the planet. This week I’ve found three perfect products for when we need a little lift. I love  wiping away a busy day with a good cleanser.

Nunaia has just launched a Superfood Cleansing Balm, €59, and Facial Cleansing Ovals €19.95. The balm’s antioxidant-rich and plant-based formula removes make-up and lifts impurities naturally and is rich in vitamins A, C, and E.  The ovals are reusable too, meaning there’s no single-use waste.

I am a fan of the Yogandha Roll-on, €19.95, for when I get a headache or have a bit of the old jet-lag. It’s available in three formulas:  Ground, Balance, and Salute, which include respectively scents of sandalwood, and frankincense, jasmine and cypress, or grapefruit and bergamot. Just roll a little on to the temples, neck or wrists for a bit of a boost.

Practicing self-care can be as easy as indulging in a long bath. Treat yourself with a relaxing bath oil Yon-Ka Paris Phyto Bain Oil, €39, which makes it pleasurable to hang out in the bathroom a little longer.  The bit of time out will leave you refreshed and ready to tackle anything.

Most Wanted

March is the perfect month to say top o’ the morning’ to the latest luxury palette – Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Rebel, €50. The sleek palette features four sultry shades that contain gold and green tones,  including olive and khaki, for chic eye make-up that’s a nod to St Pat without going full leprechaun. It’s currently available on charlottetilbury.com, and from Brown Thomas nationwide, and from Arnotts from March 26.

Eyes on the Prize

When I was a young wan, I could go out all night, then go straight to a photo shoot and just like the former party animal Kate Moss, I’d somehow look grand. Not any more – the bags under my eyes give away a bad night’s sleep. So I’m now always on the hunt for some long lasting solutions. I jumped at the chance to try out a new one-of-a-kind eye treatment that’s non-invasive but super rejuvenating .  It involves a new gadget by Casmara—pressotherepy glasses that are designed to sooth tired eyes by gently massaging the lymph vessels to reduce puffiness. Stimulating more senses than one, the glasses were hooked up to my favourite playlist for the ultimate in relaxed vibes, and were then replaced by a perfection formula with botanical extracts – this left me bright-eyed and ready to face the day. Triona’s Trick

Have trouble achieving the perfect smoky eye?  Try drawing a  hashtag (#) on your outer eyelids with an eyeliner pencil, then blend it out with a brush. It’ll keep coverage even on both sides, ensuring a smoky look that’s more sultry than sloppy.

Cult Product

Want to know the secret to having skin that’ll  age gracefully? It’s all about taking care of it, says Clarins. The new Clarins Nutri-Lumiere range from €65, is a collection of super nourishing day and night creams that are chock-full of plant extracts. I love Nutri-Luminere Jour, a lightweight nutrient-rich anti-aging day lotion that promises to restore vitality to mature skin. With the aim of regaining youthful skin, each cream on the range contains Clarin’s anti-polution complex.

Love Bomb

Florals for Spring may not be groundbreaking, but if you need a scent refresh then check out our Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb Dew €66. The explosion of fresh accords stays true to Flowerbomb, the signature perfume’s original interaction, but with a twist. It combines three main accords that involve roses and pink pepper, orris and almonds, and creamy vanilla notes for a scent that’s feminine and fresh, but not sickly sweet.
